Privacy Policy

Last updated October 27, 2026, for Horizon 1.0.

The Short Version

Horizon reads your Apple Card, Apple Cash and Savings activity on your iPhone, with your permission, and keeps it on your devices and in your own private iCloud. There is no Horizon server, no account, no analytics and no tracking. Your financial data is never sent to the developer, and the developer has no way to see it.

What Horizon Reads

With your permission, Horizon reads your Apple Card, Apple Cash and Savings accounts through Apple's FinanceKit framework, on your iPhone. For each transaction that means its amount and currency, date, merchant name, statement description, merchant category code, type and status. It also reads your accounts' balances and the card's credit limit and payment due date.

Horizon uses this only to show you your spending: totals, trends, budgets, recurring charges, statements and search. It never changes anything in Wallet; FinanceKit is read-only. You can turn access off at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Financial Data.

What You Add

Categories you change, notes, the people in your household, rules, budgets and your other settings are kept with your transactions in the same places, described below.

Where It's Kept

  • On your devices. Horizon keeps its copy in its own storage on your iPhone and iPad, so it works quickly and offline.
  • In your private iCloud. With Sync with iCloudon (it's on unless you turn it off in Horizon's Settings), Horizon keeps a copy in your own private iCloud database so your iPad and other devices see the same data. Only your Apple Account can read it. Transaction details are encrypted by Apple in iCloud, and with Advanced Data Protection turned on they're end-to-end encrypted, so not even Apple can read them.

Nothing is kept anywhere else.

What Horizon Doesn't Do

  • It has no servers, and sends your financial data nowhere but your own iCloud.
  • It has no accounts or sign-in, and never asks for bank logins.
  • It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking, and no third-party code that collects data.
  • It doesn't sell, share or rent anything, because it doesn't have anything to share.

The App Store lists Horizon as Data Not Collected.

Face ID and the App Switcher

If you turn on Require Face ID, iOS checks your face or passcode; Horizon only learns whether it succeeded. The app switcher always shows a cover in place of your spending.

Deleting Your Data

Deleting Horizon removes everything it keeps on that device. To delete the copy in iCloud, go to Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage on your iPhone, choose Horizon and delete its data. Turning off Sync with iCloud stops new changes from syncing.

This Website

horizonspend.io sets no cookies and uses no analytics. If you send a message through the feedback form, what you type (and your email, if you give it) goes to our inbox through Web3Forms, which delivers it and doesn't use it for anything else. The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs.

Children

Horizon isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect anything from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. A change that sends data somewhere new will be explained in the app before it happens.
